Oarai...

Sorry this is sort of late...

Friday the 17th I went to Oarai with some friends - we had a good time checking out the aquarium, eating okonomiyaki and yakisoba at a "cook it yourself" restaurant, visiting the Oarai shrine, experiencing purikura, and then just relaxing. All in all a great day. Pics on flickr.

Nothing else really exciting at the moment. It's been really hot for a couple of weeks, but the rain and thunderstorms the last few days have cooled things down nicely. When it was hot, there never seemed to be decent waves when I had free time. I saw some decent waves today, and hopefully they'll still be there tomorrow morning - if I wake up early...!

A half dozen of my friends climbed Mt. Fuji last weekend - another three of us are planning on climbing it in a couple of weeks - hopefully the weather's good!

Decent waves you say...i.e. surfing waves?

Waves in Tofino were good enough for us amateurs. On the second day the waves were big enough that we couldn't get out past the breakers. :( Great fun though. A typhoon sounds like fun. Bet there'd be plenty of sweet waves. :) Good luck with getting the weather that you want.

Can't wait to hear about it! ...although looking at the date, it could've already happened?
