So I wandered through a park by a (small) lake (pics on flickr), had some great butter chicken with saffron rice and butter naan (I distinctly remember someone saying they hated blogs about what people ate on a daily basis, but I can't remember who it was. Enjoy!) and then headed over to the Ibaraki Modern Art Gallery. Outside I discovered another wonderful Japanese invention. I've mentioned before how I was impressed by the concept of umbrella condoms to keep your wet umbrella from dripping everywhere. Most places also have umbrella racks just inside the door so you can shop with both hands. I buy cheap umbrellas. I've already lost one. But there are umbrellas that cost upwards of $40. You wouldn't want to just leave that where anyone could take it (not that anyone would), and thus...

just push your umbrella in and the key pops out. Oh, and the museum was nice too.

Apparently the Japanese officials are more vigilant than the officials in...other countries...
Good to hear from you. Sorry that Fuji didn't work but I believe in you--don't come home until you beat it.
(And have you always been referring to people by letter names? Is it for their privacy? If not it makes me think I'm reading a math problem.)
I don't know if I have before, but I've started to. I haven't really asked people if they mind being on my blog.
And as for...other countries...those citizens (along with Brazil and China) are among the few that have to take all the tests. Europe, Australia, etc., no problem.
