A day or two before C headed for Tokyo and a plane full of hot Scandinavian women, three of our former students - M, S and K - took C, G and I
to Fukuroda Falls and the Big Suspension Bridge (I can't remember it's actual name). Both places are quite a ways out in the mountains, and the fall colours were gorgeous.
It was also a fantastic drive - windy roads through forests and fields and small towns - a nice contrast to the usual cityscape.
We had the chance to try some new foods - "sweet fish" - which is a kind of river fish cooked on a skewer over hot coals and then dipped in salt and "konnyaku sashimi" - raw konnyaku.
