Christmas is usually a time for friends, family and food, and although my family is on the other side of the ocean, there were plenty of the other two f's to keep up the Christmas cheer. There was a Christmas party at Gyouza Brothers, a Bohnenkai with some of the Nova students, a potluck before Christmas, and a simple dinner on Christmas itself. Good food, good friends, good fun.
Also, by request, I've put up some pictures of "the skinniest Santa ever." I played Santa-san for a group of Japanese Kindergarten kids on the 17th of December. It was actually a lot of fun, although I forgot a few words from "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." The kids sang me a song too, and while I couldn't understand it, watching and hearing some 60+ kids sing to you at the top of their lungs is pretty cool.
Not sure what the kids will think of a Santa-san who only speaks English (but looks Japanese behind the beard that kept getting stuck in his mouth) but that's what was requested!
