Home for the Holidays

I had bought a ticket back to Toronto for the 20th of December. As the day got closer, I kept reading about all the delays expected because of a huge winter storm. And on the 19th, a lot of flights were delayed/cancelled. On the 20th, everything worked out, and while things were a bit late, there were no major issues. Then it snowed again on the 21st. Perfect timing!

Being home was good – just relaxing, and visiting with everyone was a nice break from work. Greg and I piled up snow for a quincey, but before we got a chance to dig it out, the weather warmed up and it all melted. Crazy. That warm spell also killed our day of snowboarding, as it was way too warm. It actually rained at the hill the day before we were planning to go, and then got really cold overnight.

We did take Alejandra ice skating for the first time – she seemed a little confused about why her feet kept slipping, but did pretty well and apparently enjoyed it!

Other than that, I pretty much just ate too much home cooking (I gained about two kilos) and relaxed. I came back in the first week of January, and got back to the grind.
