Sunflower is the ship

I packed some clothes and camping supplies - planned on mostly staying in the tent or the car.
Got to the ferry terminal in Oarai a bit early, as I wasn't exactly sure of the process. Easy enough - thought I might need some proof of roadworthiness paperwork (shakenshyo?) but they didn't ask for it. Second class is basically just a big room with really skinny mattresses. But comfortable enough.
The whole boat is pretty basic, nothing fancy, but ok. Ate a bento, had a bath and slept. If you ever take one of these ferries, bring a book or two! There's not a whole lot to do! We got to Tomakomai on schedule at 1:30pm, but it was 2:15 by the time I drove out of the terminal area.

Hokkaido photos are here. (Or will be very soon!)
